BRACE Award Venture Competitions must be conducted entirely in English.

Application for the BRACE Award Venture Competition consists of three parts (general questionnaire fields, a presentation deck summarizing a business plan and a brief video), each of which must be completed and submitted before the application deadline—and that will remain confidential. The fourth and final component, a HK$2,000 entrance payment, is applicable only to selected semi-finalists and its payment is due after notification.

The application cut-off date for the Fall 2020 BRACE Award Venture Competition will be Monday, 31 August 2020, at 11:59 PM Hong Kong Time. Submitted applications for scheduled BRACE Award Venture Competitions will be reviewed by AFCR personnel. Approved submissions will be required to, at a minimum, demonstrate cancer mitigation technology, business potential and professionalism.

Among approved applications, a highly qualified selection committee will determine BRACE Award Venture Competition semi-finalists based on the overall quality of responses. These semi-finalists will be announced over two weeks before the event itself by e-mail communication to all approved applicants and online to the general public.

Among semi-finalists who are invited to participate in the final pitch competition, a minimum of 30 minutes and maximum of 45 minutes will be allocated per applicant project, including segue and the judging committee feedback and questioning periods, and visual presentations (PowerPoint or PDF) will be required. Event details, including logistics, on the current BRACE Award Venture Competition can be found here.

Confidentiality agreements will be signed by all judges and others present at the event.

If the online application is not appearing in your browser below, please e-mail AFCR Senior Director Bradley Gillenwater at to request a PDF version, and he will respond within 24 hours.
