Mr. Wong is a seasoned venture capitalist and an engaged board member, offering invaluable advice to investees on corporate strategy, international business development, governance, and finance. He is the Founding Partner of Turbulentos Ventures, an international venture builder and angel investing platform that focuses on innovative education, healthcare, and logistics automation, with ventures in Hong Kong, Japan, the UK, and the US. Additionally, he currently serves as a Board Director for LuxCreo, a Chicago-based startup engaged in the development of personalized medical and dental devices.
Before establishing his investment platform, Mr. Wong was the Founding Leader of HKSTP Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, which specializes in deep-tech investments from early to growth stages. Since its launch in September 2015, he has managed all transaction executions, portfolio strategy, and strategic partnerships. During his nine-year tenure, the assets under management (AUM) at HKSTP Ventures increased twentyfold to US$150 million, with half of its portfolio companies located in Silicon Valley, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the UK. Prior to his role at HKSTP Ventures, Mr. Wong led the Greater China Distressed Investment team at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank. He has also gained solid corporate finance and M&A exposure from his investment banking experiences at ABN AMRO and BNP Paribas. In total, he has over 15 years of direct investment experience across various sectors in Greater China, Southeast Asia, Silicon Valley, and the UK.
Mr. Wong is a member of the Sustainability Domain Advisory Panel for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Entrepreneurship Investment Fund, advising on investment strategies. Additionally, he mentors students in biomedical and healthcare entrepreneurship through the Hong Kong Life Science Society and has been a mentor and judge for the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge since 2021, demonstrating his commitment to social services. Furthermore, he is an honorary lecturer at the University of Hong Kong and the Awaji Youth Federation in Japan, teaching new venture creation and venture capital investing, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Integrated Innovation at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.
Mr. Wong graduated with distinction from St. Hugh’s College, Oxford University, and is a CFA Charterholder.
