Keisha Dalton was just 30-years-old when she noticed blood in her stool after eating spicy Italian food. “Maybe I have hemorrhoids,” she thought. “It’s not a big deal.” But a colonoscopy revealed otherwise. “I never thought in a million years that I would have colon cancer,” the Louisville mom said. But she did. Some people wrongly think of colon cancer as an older men’s disease and most cases do occur after the age of 50, but younger people aren’t completely immune. American Cancer Society researchers recently reported that new cases of colon cancer and rectal cancer have increased among young and middle-age Americans.
