COLORECTAL
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Eat fiber-rich fruits, vegetables, and grains
- Eat less red and processed meats
- Reduce fat intake
- Quit smoking
- Limit alcohol intake to 2 drinks/day for men and 3 drinks/week for women
ESOPHAGEAL
- Avoid tobacco use
- Limit alcohol consumption
- Avoid acidic, spicy or fatty foods
- Avoid bending over, lying down, or exercising soon after meals
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Eat more fruits and vegetables
LIVER
- Hepatitis B & C vaccination
- Maximize protection against toxic chemicals
- Reduce alcohol consumption
- Don’t smoke
LUNG
- Stop smoking
- Avoid secondhand smoke
- Reduce exposure to pollutants
- Consult your doctor to decide if you should get a low-dose spiral CT scan
PROSTATE
- Don’t overeat. Drink green tea
- Limit alcohol intake: 2 drinks/day
- Meet with your doctor to develop a plan for physical activity
- Eat more fruits, vegetables, and lean protein
- Quit smoking
- Know your family history of cancer
SKIN
- Wear a SPF 30 or higher sunscreen that protects your skin against both UVA and UVB rays when outdoors
- Avoid indoor tanning
- Seek shade, not sun
- Do regular skin checks
- Wear sunglasses that block 99-100% of UV radiation
- Wear protective clothing for outdoor activities
