The Asian Fund for Cancer Research Limited (AFCR), together with the US Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (USCACA), is proud to recognize four outstanding young cancer researchers as recipients of the 2026 USCACA–AFCR Young Investigator Award.

Since 2010, AFCR and USCACA have jointly presented the Young Investigator Award to recognize promising Chinese cancer researchers in the early stages of their careers. The award aims to advance cancer research by encouraging the translation of laboratory discoveries into new approaches to cancer treatment, while strengthening scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange between China and the United States.

2026 Awardees

  • Lin Qi, Ph.D. – Associate Professor, School of Medicine, Guilin Medical University
  • Rongzhong Xu, M.D. – Attending Physician, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
  • Yu Zhang, Ph.D. – Associate Research Fellow, Department of Pediatric Oncology, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center
  • Xiaodi Zhao, M.D., Ph.D. – Associate Professor and Deputy Chief Physician, Xijing Hospital

The four awardees will be formally honored at the USCACA–AFCR Young Investigator Award Ceremony on August 7 at the 2026 Annual Conference on Innovation in Comprehensive Oncology Care.

Through the USCACA–AFCR Young Investigator Award, AFCR is proud to support and recognize emerging researchers whose work is expanding our understanding of cancer and opening new possibilities for better treatments.
