The Asian Fund for Cancer Research Limited is proud to support Mr. Sunil Tuli, Group CEO of King Power Group (Hong Kong), on his remarkable Himalayan trek to raise critical funds for high-impact cancer research.

In February 2026, Mr. Tuli successfully completed the Mardi Himal Trek in Nepal’s Annapurna region, a five-day expedition reaching an altitude of 4,500 meters. As part of the global #KickCancerThon initiative, this journey represented both a physical challenge and a powerful commitment to advancing progress against cancer.

Why This Challenge Matters

#KickCancerThon was created by Sinead Moodie and her father Martin Moodie, founders of The Moodie Davitt Report, a leading publication in the travel retail and duty-free industry where Mr. Tuli has worked for over 40 years.

Sinead was diagnosed with Stage 4 NUT Carcinoma Lung Cancer, an ultra-rare and aggressive variant of cancer. A lifelong non-smoker and just 40 years old, she faces this challenge with a young family. Her determination to turn a personal diagnosis into a global call for action has inspired supporters across industries and borders.

Her courage and determination deeply resonated with Mr. Tuli, motivating him to stand in solidarity and contribute meaningfully to this global effort.

“This five-day trek will surely test my endurance, but it is worth it to support this admirable initiative and help raise global visibility and funds for cancer research,” said Mr. Tuli.

Supporting Cancer Research

Through the incredible generosity of supporters, the campaign raised around HK$240,000, with all proceeds directly supporting cancer research. Mr. Tuli personally covered all expedition-related expenses, ensuring that every contribution could directly fuel scientific discovery and innovation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Tuli and to everyone whose support and generosity helped turn this journey into meaningful impact. Every contribution helps move science forward and brings us closer to a world without cancer.

Inspired by this remarkable journey, we look forward to carrying this spirit of determination forward and continuing to advance innovative cancer research for patients and families worldwide.
